The wounds of war are not always visible and no veteran ever returns home the same as when they left. No amount of training and guidance will reprogram the mind to endure the sights, sounds, and smells of combat situations in war warzones.
At PAWS, we've determined through immense experiences that the best way for veterans to work through traumas and transitionary challenges is to relate and remember they're never alone. In order to do that, PAWS has developed a veteran led peer mentorship program for veterans. Our program connects new veterans with veterans who have been a part of our program and allows for veterans to connect, feel welcome, and belong.
We host monthly veteran gathering events in a variety of environments where veterans can come and connect with other veterans, relax, and feel that brotherhood/sisterhood connection again.
